The sixth edition of Intersolar Mexico brought together the solar industry from September 2–4, 2025, in Mexico City, and the solar thermal sector was prominently represented. With local and international solar thermal manufacturers and partners exhibiting at the new Innovation Hub, Heat Changers with its Premium Partner role, a Solar Thermal Showroom, and strong participation in the content program with 12 presentation and one technical workshop, solar heat was represented by leading voices, international companies, and sector associations. Besides, the first International Solar Thermal Meeting further reinforced Intersolar Mexico as a hub for collaboration and innovation in solar thermal.
The event welcomed approximately 9,000 visitors from across the country and abroad, together with The GREEN Expo and Aquatech Mexico. Besides the International Conference that generated great interest among the more than 400 delegates, Intersolar Mexico featured two spaces that offered visitors the opportunity to receive free training through 28 talks and three technical workshops led by exhibitors and partner organizations: the Intersolar Stage and the Innovation Forum. On Thursday, September 4, Marisol Oropeza , representing the Solar Heating Initiative (SHI), addressed the visitors at the Intersolar Stage with her talk: “International certification and labeling of solar collectors.” Her presentation introduced the Mexican audience to international certification schemes like the Solar KEYMARK and shed light on the benefits of the SOLERGY label.

CERTIFICATION AND LABELING: KEY TAKEAWAYS
Oropeza emphasized that the Global Solar Certification Network (GSCN) works to harmonize collector certification schemes globally, simplifying market entry for manufacturers. She highlighted how the Solar KEYMARK, a voluntary third-party certification recognized across Europe and beyond, ensures compliance with rigorous standards. The Solar KEYMARK is often required by public authorities as eligibility for support schemes, making it a cornerstone of product credibility and market acceptance.
Building on that foundation, the SOLERGY label was presented as a consumer-friendly tool to communicate performance transparently. Originally developed in 2016 by DIN CERTCO and SHI, the label draws inspiration from the familiar European ErP energy label and assigns performance classes from -A to AAA, reflecting energy output across different EU regions and applications. Oropeza explained how this label helps manufacturers showcase independently validated performance data while helping consumers and policymakers make informed choices.

STRONG SOLAR THERMAL PRESENCE
A total of twelve presentations and a technical workshop addressed pressing topics for the solar thermal industry, further highlighting the sector’s innovation and global relevance. All sessions were packed with engaged audiences, proving that interest in solar thermal in Mexico is stronger than ever.

Besides, the solar thermal industry made a strong impression at Intersolar Mexico. Local and international manufacturers—including Módulo Solar (Mexico), Dimas Solar and Thermic (Greece), and Trigo Energies (Canada)—exhibited their latest collector technologies at the Innovation Hub.

A key milestone during the event was the International Solar Thermal Meeting on September 2. This gathering strengthened ties among associations, policymakers, companies, and advocates, laying the groundwork for future collaborations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Distinguished participants included:

- Lucio Mesquita and Ben Stinson (IEA-SHC Technology Collaboration Programme)
- Luz Aguilar (BSW – German Solar Association)
- Mariano Birlain (Mexican Ministry of Energy, SENER)
- Daniel García (FAMERAC / ANES / Módulo Solar)
- Jesús González (Panamanian Chamber of Solar Energy, Heat Changers Brand Ambassador)
- Christian Vachon (Trigo Energies, Canada)
- Vaughan Boultwood (Solahart, Australia)
- Rosilena Lindo (global energy and climate advisor, Panama)
- Lena Schöffel (young advocate for solar thermal, Heat Changer from Germany)
The meeting’s outcome: stronger links that will trigger new collaborations to advance solar thermal both globally and regionally.
HEAT CHANGERS – PREMIUM PARTNER OF INTERSOLAR MEXICO
Heat Changers, Premium Partner of the sixth edition of Intersolar Mexico, significantly contributed to raising the profile of solar thermal in Mexico.
The Heat Changers booth on the exhibition floor became a central meeting place for professionals and visitors alike. It also hosted brochures of the Global Solar Certification Network (GSCN), ensuring that awareness of certification and the SOLERGY label reached a broader audience in Mexico and Latin America.

Since the inaugural event in 2019, Intersolar Mexico organizers have consistently supported the solar thermal industry, providing visibility, space, and opportunities to showcase solutions.
